The 'theological effect' may have been more important than admiring the art work in detail

Indeed, in many houses of worship a low light level is commonly used to represent the mystery of the deity.

(This is probably a more acceptable explanation than "We forgot to think about the windows.")

It stands astride one of the ride queues, and when you finally pass underneath you can look up and see his floral underpants.
