Impressive.   Those seem mainly Corinthian but many different varieties. Made me think, is there a Greek helmet typology, like there is a Roman helmet typology.?

Absolutely right, Dave: if you still have the book, see pages 60-61 (and page 121 for a similar 'evolution' of Italian helmets).

crikey, my brain cell must have been having a good day to pick that one out of the air! 

I found it a useful representation of the evolution/development of greek helmets. As an aside (going back to my reenacting days), I used to have a late medieval 'Barbute' style helmet which reflecting now was strikingly familiar to some of the early Corinthian type helmets as per the representations from Peter Connolly's book
