Quite interesting indeed 

I was a bit surprised, though, that the Black Death was not mentioned as a possible cause of declining English ship numbers after 1347. Constant requisition can't have helped, and I'm happy to believe it was the main cause, but the population drop should presumably have reduced demand for shipping anyway.
