Hopefully, you will.  :)
I'll write four battle scenarios to add to the paper and send them to the editor. From there, it's up to him! :)

FWIW my view is that they seem to be describing two kinds of vehicle.

1. In which the crew skirmish without contributing much to the battle.
These being proper chariots, similar to what the Libyans were using, military versions of what the Kyrenean kings were sending to compete (and sometimes win) in various chariot races in Greece. The Kyreneans were also reported as having sent Alexander the Great "100 chariots and 300 charioteers and men to fight beside them" IIRC but I'm not sure of the original source for that.

2. From which the crew dismount, form up and attack the enemy with "unimpaired strength".
Probably being a mixture of whatever donkey-carts, ox-wagons and carriages were available to transport people.

That tends to be my view, too; though the written sources are quite distant, either geographically (Xenophon) or in time, so we can't entirely rule out misunderstanding.

It's not Alexander - this is Diodoros describing the Kyrenean contingent that Ophellas took to join Agathokles's war against Carthage.

Ah, yes. I got mixed up with this (also Diodorus Siculus):
17.49.2-3  331/330 BC
Alexander [the great] went off to the temple of Ammon, where he wished to consult the oracle of the god. When he had advanced half way along the coast, he was met by envoys from the Kyrenaioi, who brought him a crown and magnificent gifts among which were three hundred "chargers" [acc pl hippous polemistas] and five handsome four-horse chariots [tethrippa kratista]  he received the envoys cordially and made a treaty of friendship and alliance with them.

They could have been racing chariots, or "prestige car" equivalents.
