Followed off a report on the BBC website to this paper on latest DNA analysis from Pompeii:

I thought one interesting finding (if tangential to the main thrust of the research) noted in passing was the possibility / probability of Neolithic migration to Sardinia from Anatolia.  Which inevitably led to the Sherden debate popping into my little brain... 😎
