I would note that the reconstruction shows a fort more in keeping with, say, the Principate than the 4th century.  Also rather glosses over the possibility of post-Roman locals being aware of some sort of Roman fortification on the hill and associating it with Macsen Wledig, without any actual connection to him.  Even Dr Merrony calls it an auxiliary fort.  But never let the facts get in the way of a good story and publicity
