Title: Some odd 10mm and 15mm figures
Post by: dwkay57 on Sep 19, 2025, 04:56 PM
Sorting through one's pile of lead, as one does occasionally, I came across some figures which I don't really have any need (or had any).

The first is a series of 10mm figures - mostly from Pendraken probably. A mix of draft (or is it draught) horses and oxen, plus some figures that might have pushed siege towers (see my article in Slingshot 352) and what are probably Hussite hand gunners that fell out of their war wagon when my 6mm queen of sheba purloined them for her luggage. There are also a couple of Roman artillerists at the bottom too.

Let me know if you are interested.

The second is what looks like 15mm Roman auxiliaries with Z12 inscribed on the bases.

Why I have these I have no idea.

Again let me know if you can make use of them.

Wouldn't a draft horse be one sold in a pub?

I've had a few beers that I suspect a horse may have been involved with. :(  ;D

The animals certainly look like the Pendraken ones but I have no obvious use for them either.

Perhaps the horses could be used as ponies for children, or hobbits and dwarves.

By filling in the gaps around the straps etc on the horses with polyfilla or something you could make them look like saddle blankets and the horses could represent spare mounts for battlefield baggage units. I've done this with some surplus 6mm cart-pulling horses.

Or lay them flat add a bit of filler and they're casualties....

Are the horses large enough to mount Martin Vexillia's Essex riders?    ???

On the basis there is no interest I'll have to consign them to the metal recycling container :(
