Title: Early Coptic Christian city excavated in Kharga oasis

Looks like it actually goes back to the Ptolemaic era, but most finds are later.

For some entirely inexplicable reason, I've always found the oases interesting. The fact that they were sometimes so integral to Egyptian history seems to indicate that it was more than just the Nile valley  8)
