In Digging for Britain they noted this wasn't a huge treasure and estimated it's value as sixteen cows.  This should allow Jim to give an idea of its modern value.

It's about the same as the annual civil service salary of an Executive Officer (EO) London

So, approx £28,000 - £32,000. Quite middling for liquid assets. Presumably, our depositor had most of his/her assets tied up in land and property.

Almost certainly. Or the depositor's victims had most of their assets in land and property and therefore unlootable
