I think now we move on to using this framework to calculate the area of Xerxes camp during the second invasion.

Actually, IIRC, attempts to use Roman camp size information was dismissed in our approach to Xerxes army as the Roman army was less organised than the Persian.  The Persians had to be more organised, as our understanding of Roman logistics was such that they could never have deployed 5 million men in an invasion of Greece. ???
