The incident reminds me of one in school where someone defaced a piece of art in the corridor. The Deputy Head summoned the senior prefects and sent them to bring the culprit to justice. It was a quick job - the boy had written his nickname

Of course, the damage to the walls from this incident pales into insignificance compared with that perpetrated by Cromwell's armies and more modern city councils.
