I quite like the idea of a bronze daily wage.  Having looked this up in the actual paper in Antiquity, it comes from the Code of Hammurabi.  Who'd have thought that Babylonian law codes influenced Spanish practice at this time    I do wish archaeologists wouldn't do that sort of thing.
