Constant drought conditions is why all the Roman archaeology in Australia is so visible. I didn't even know grass was green until I lived in Europe.

Hopefully you dig up some of those dry and dusty Welsh sites and find the  Sutton Hoo ver.2?

FWIW, In 2012 I attended a job interview with an Arab from one of the region's oil companies.  This took place on the 36^th floor of Centre Point in London and, as I entered the meeting room, he was staring out of the window at the torrential rain falling outside.  Bizarrely, a couple of weeks previously Thames Water had declared a state of drought due to low winter rainfall. 

So, in the time-honoured English tradition of starting all conversations by remarking on the weather, I opened the interview with "You appreciate that we are in the middle of a drought?"

He offered me the job.

Given the number of droughts we've had since the advent of aerial photography and satellite photography I'm surprised there is much left to discover
