Battle of Munda

I'm wondering if anyone has a reliable OOB for the battle of Munda. In particular, I'm interested in whether the Republican forces had Spanish auxiliaries.

Some games or scenarios I've seen giving them a trickle of Numidian mercenaries as light infantry, but I'm interested in whether the so-called Spanish legions that Pompey the younger and Labienus raised were entirely Roman military settlers fighting as legionaries, or whether you might find some units of Scutarii in the mix. Additionally, would the light infantry employed by the Republican forces include Spanish slingers or caetrati?

If, and it is a big IF, the legions included non-citizens, still does not mean that they would have looked any different to the other legionaries.  Scutum, helmet, maybe body armour (I am a tad sceptical that civil war legions all had armour), pila, sword.  Now, one can say that Spanish scutarii also have scutum, helmet, maybe body armour, pointy stick and sword.  But I should imagine it would be highly artificial to distinguish "Roman" legionaries from "Spanish" legionaries at such a late date.

Light forces, if recruited from inland tribes or the islands, maybe still a bit native in look.  But the danger is in mapping ideas of appearance from the 3rd and 2nd centuries onto the last half of the 1st century...

I agree - but given that the Sertorian war was, what, 30 years prior and still involved very tribal Spanish armies, I thought it wasn't implausible

Caesar's Spanish War 30 says:
Their battle line was composed of thirteen legions, and was screened on the flanks by cavalry as well as six thousand light-armed troops, while in addition there were nearly as many again auxiliary troops besides: our forces comprised eighty cohorts⁠ and eight thousand cavalry. (Loeb 1955)

The light-armed troops could be mostly local Spanish.

The Republican legions would appear to have many 'newly-raised" troops. Their dress code is not described in detail, other than they were fighting as legions. So, I would agree with David that they are standing in ranks with scutum, helmet and pointy stick and looking every bit like a legion.

And there is more glory in defeating 13 legions rather than tribal infantry mobs!
