Title: Zanj revolt and canal digging

Apparently the Zanj revolted because they were forced to dig canals (very very abrupt paraphrase)

Or were they revolting because they had just dug the canals.... ::)

Pure serendipity. I suppose the Zanj is one of those movements I've always felt I wanted to learn more about at some point (probably because I may even have some of the figures suitable  ::)  ) so I might have noticed something that otherwise would have passed me by  ;)
