...but not Aristarchus of Samos, who developed a similar model some 18 centuries earlier.

Incidentally, Copernicus derived Gresham's Law, but gave its name to the latter as a birthday present.  Vey generous of him really.

Nice to know the 'your ancestors plagiarised my ancestors' debates are still going on.
I'm waiting for the Babylonians to step in and point out that they did all the ground work  :)
