Nice piece, especially the hilt.

I thought the History Blog dating was odd - "Its style dates it to the Vendel Period between the 7th and 9th centuries A.D", which is running far too late for the Vendel period - but the original Swedish piece says "dateras till vendeltid/vikingatid", so Vendel or Viking period.

He already does, it's just you cannot see it because the figure grasps it firmly in his hand  8)
