Ask any churchwarden, the costs of maintaining a large old building can be a nightmare  :'(

£117k won't go far for conservation grade work, especially as they plan some kind of archaeological survey too.

true....probably shoring up crumbling masonry is about it

That's what struck me, a bit of decent shoring up to give them time to raise the serious money the job will take
