A long time ago, perhaps 50 years, my father was digging out the foundations of an Elizabethan bakery in Rochester and came across some pieces of pottery.  There weren't any complete objects and not even all the pieces which could be reassembled to reconstruct the original, but the British Museum confirmed that they were Roman and dated from the 1st/2nd century AD.

I still have them.
