Another fascinating non-destructive application of technology in archaeology. I look forward to seeing the results from Ankara in due course.

In case anyone's interested in the results in full detail (including three transliterated and translated letters), the NPJ Heritage Science paper that online article's based on is freely available as open access, including as a hyperlinked PDF download here (https://www.nature.com/articles/s40494-026-02568-7). The paper's webpage has some additional links that may be of interest, as related, as well.

But doesn't the mobile CT scanner look too much like a Lego construct? ;)
