Having just had one's central heating boiler replaced after spending last week without heat, I can quite sympathise with the medieval monks of Rievaulx Abbey...  ;D

I suppose growing up within walking distance of Furness Abbey I wasn't surprised. Being shown the warming house was something we got on a school trip at the age of ten  :)
